One of the success stories of GRTHM 2009 was a GRT talent competition organised by the months media lead, Jake Bowers and held in Surrey. The event had a much larger turnout than had been expected and showcased high levels of artistry and performance. The community participation was so high that the model was repeated nationally in 2010. Nine regional heats led to a national final on July 9th 2010, held in the grounds of the beautiful Museum of East Anglian Life in Stowmarket, Suffolk, as part of the Gypsy Arts Festival.
